New Pit Advice

I have cooked on a cheap offset smoker for years and finally started cooking Boston Butts on my webber grill. I use indirect heat to cook on the grill and my Carolina style bbq is far better than anything cooked on the smoker. I have retired the smoker to accasional use at deer camp so I am without a cooker at home. I am looking at building or buying a pit. I am even considering a drum style smoker. N. C. style BBQ is the only way I will cook now. Any advice from the pro's.

James, what I use at my house is a Weber WSM...I use the water pan filled w/ sand and it will smoke for a good 12-15 hrs w/o refilling....I can put 4 good size butts on there at a time. I use either hickory or cherry for smoke flavor...Hope this helps....

Thanks for your advice. I have considered the WSM. What size do you use. Any feedback on the 22.5. I have read mixed reviews on the net about this one. I have not seen these in the stores yet but they are available online.
