    Green River Bar-B-Que in Saluda

    Hey y'all, here is my review on a new Q-joint (for me) that I tried yesterday, located about 35 miles south of Asheville ('bout 1/2 way between Asheville and Spartanburg, SC) just off of I-26.

    Green River Bar-B-Que, 131 W. Hwy 176, Saluda, NC  28773 - (828)749-9892;
         I got the “½ Chopped Pork Plate” for lunch and found that the pork was a bit dry and chewy with good light smoke flavor.  No sauce on the pork, but table sauces were not bad - BBQ; Hot; and Mustard sauces.  C-slaw was chopped sorta fine with lots of watery dressing and slightly bitter taste.  Tomato Pie was stewed tomatoes with mozzarella cheese baked on top - TOO Italian for a Q side.  Puppies were crunchy on the outside and mushy on the inside with a savory flavor - better with the tomato pie than the Q.  Good amount of pork for 1/2 plate.  $8.99 plus $1.69 tea &Tax &Tip minus $2 internet coupon on $20.

    Overall I gave this establishment a 3.0 on my 1.0 (bad) to 5.0 (best) scale.
